FROM PITTSBURGH: Take the Pa. Turnpike to Exit 91 (Donegal). From the Toll Plaza turn left onto Route 31 and head toward Somerset, PA. After crossing the Laurel Ridge and passing the entrance to Hidden Valley, Bakersville a bit further on and a gas station on the left, look for a "Bikel Trail" sign on the right. Just beyond is Trent Road. Turn right at Trent Road and proceed to the next "T" intersection at Copper Kettle Highway. At Cooper Kettle Highway turn left and proceed to New Centerville and the intersection with Rt 281. Turn right onto Rt 281 and head toward Confluence. When you get to Confluence follow the "Bike Trail" signs staying on Rt 281 through town and across the Casselman River. Just before another bridge, this time crossing the Youghiogheny River, look for Lucky Dog Cafe on the left. Turn left in front of Lucky Dog and follow the road a short distance to a Great Allegheny Passage Access parking lot on the left. From the parking lot ride back to Rt 281. The Great Allegheny Passage trail crosses the road to the parking lot. Go left to head for Ohiopyle, Connellsville and Pittsburgh. Go right to head toward Rockwood, Meyersdale, and Cumberland.

FROM HARRISBURG: From Harrisburg, PA; Take the Pa Turnpike to Exit 110 (Somerset). From the Toll Plaza follow signs for the "Bike Trail". These will lead to Route 281 south and New Centerville. At New Centerville stay on Route 281 south to Confluence. When you get to Confluence follow the "Bike Trail" signs staying on Route 281 through town and across the Casselman River. The Great Allegheny Passage trail crosses the road to the parking lot. Go left to head for Ohiopyle, Connellsville and Pittsburgh. Go right to head toward Rockwood, Meyersdale, and Cumberland.

FROM DC/BALTIMORE/N.VA. Area: Take I-70 West from Frederick to the Hancock area. Take I-68 to Exit 14. Head toward Route 40. At the "T" intersection with Route 40 turn left. Follow Route 40 to Route 523 and turn right onto Route 523 North toward Confluence. At the intersection of Route 523 and Route 281 in Confluence turn left onto Route 281 and immediately across the bridge over the Casselman River. Just before another bridge, this time crossing the Youghiogheny River, look for Lucky Dog Cafe on the left. Turn left in front of Lucky Dog and follow the road a short distance to a Great Allegheny Passage Access parking lot on the left. From the parking lot ride back to Route 281. The Great Allegheny Passage trail crosses the road to the parking lot. Go left to head for Ohiopyle, Connellsville and Pittsburgh. Go right to head toward Rockwood, Meyersdale, and Cumberland.

FROM UNIONTOWN, PA: Take Route 40 east toward Cumberland. At the intersection of Route 40 and outet 281, turn left onto Route 281. After coming down a long hill into the Confluence valley Route 281 crosses the Youghiogheny River. Just after crossing the bridge turn right onto a road in front of Lucky Dog and follow the road a short distance to a Great Allegheny Passage Access parking lot on the left. From the parking lot ride back to Route 281. The Great Allegheny Passage trail crosses the road to the parking lot. Go left to head for Ohiopyle, Connellsville and Pittsburgh. Go right to head toward Rockwood, Meyersdale, and Cumberland.

FROM MORGANTOWN, WV: Take I-68 to Exit 14 (Keysers Ridge). Head toward Rt 40. At the "T" intersection with Route 40 turn left. Follow Route 40 to Route 523 and turn left onto Route 523 toward Confluence. At the intersection of Route 523 and Route 281 in Confluence turn left onto Route 281 and immediately across the bridge over the Casselman River. Just before another bridge, this time crossing the Youghiogheny River, look for Lucky Dog Cafe on the left. Turn left in front of Lucky Dog and follow the road a short distance to a Great Allegheny Passage Access parking lot on the left. From the parking lot ride back to Rt 281. The Great Allegheny Passage trail crosses the road to the parking lot. Go left to head for Ohiopyle, Connellsville and Pittsburgh. Go right to head toward Rockwood, Meyersdale, and Cumberland. .

FROM OHIOPYLE & FALLINGWATER: Take Route 381 to center of Ohiopyle and Sugarloaf Road. Turn onto Sugarloaf Road and follow to Route 281 (approx. 8 miles).  Turn left onto Route 281 North to Confluence.

FROM ROCKWOOD: Follow Route 653 to New Centerville. Turn left at the blinker light onto Route 281 and follow it to Confluence.

FROM MEYERDALE: Take Route 219 north to Garrett and turn left onto Route 653. Follow Route 653 through Rockwood to New Centerville. Turn left at the blinker light onto Route 281 and follow it to Confluence
